WHITE STAR ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF R3 MILLION COMPETITION

BY SUPPLIED - DECEMBER 12, 2014

Lucky White Star consumers walked away with their share of R3 million in prizes ranging from gadgets such as big screen TV’s, Xboxes, cell phones, iPad tablets to cash and airtime prizes – just for buying their favourite maize meal and following the on-pack instructions.

Mzansi’s favourite maize meal brand ran its R3 million on-pack competition from 1 July to 30 September 2014. Each participating pack was assigned a own unique code, printed inside the packaging, and 7 200 prizes were randomly allocated to millions of participating packs.

White Star Marketing Manager, Mokhele Makhothi says, “This promotion forms part of our efforts to thank our White Star consumers for making the clever choice and choosing White Star for its superior whiteness, fluffiness and the delicious taste. It is thanks to the support and loyalty of our consumers that White Star has been rated South Africa’s number one maize meal brand in the Sunday Times Top Brands Survey for five consecutive years.”

“While the 7 188 prizes allocated to the unique codes were a game of chance – being fortunate enough to grab the right pack off the shelf – 12 cash prizes worth R200 000 were guaranteed through a lucky draw and every valid entry stood a chance of winning either R10 000 or R50 000 in cash,” Makhothi adds.

There were two R50 000 winners and ten R10 000 winners, they are:
