Water supply disruption to King Williams Town, Bisho due to vandalism
King Williams Town - The Amatola Water Board on Friday advised residents of Bhisho and King Williams Town of water supply disruptions due to a substation being vandalised.
"Due to vandalized Phakamisa substation, Amatola Water has had to switch to Pembroke Power Supply," it said.
"However, voltage is very low to run the whole works at Pembroke substation.
"We are now experiencing insufficient water supply in the areas that are normally serviced by Laing Water Treatment Works."
The areas include Bisho, Zwelitsha, King William's Town, Phakamisa and Berlin.
"We request communities to work hand in hand with government to protect the infrastructure as vandalism disadvantages communities at the end of the day."
