Port Elizabeth - SAPS Mount Road detectives are urgently trying to trace the next of kin of an unidentified man, whose body was found on Sunday, 21 June 2020.

"It is alleged that at about 12:45, police were alerted by a private security company of a body lying on an unused railway track in Old Grahamstown Road in Deal Party," said police spokesperson, Col Priscilla Naidu.

"The man believed to be in his 60’s was wearing a red shirt, brown jacket with white fur on the inside and beige pants.

"He was not wearing any shoes. He may be either a coloured or a black male.

"He has an old scar on his nose. He is of average height and has a grey beard."

Col Naidu said that a yellow plastic packet (Shoprite) was lying next to him.

"Anyone who can assist police in identifying the deceased male or may know of any person that may be missing should contact D/Sgt Gavin Scheepers at SAPS Mount Road on 073 930 9272 or 041 394 6119 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station."
