Teenager arrested for dealing in drugs by Elliot K9 unit members
Mthatha - On Tuesday, at about 18:00, two members from Elliot K9 Crime Prevention, were on their way home when they received information about a woman, who was allegedly dealing in drugs at Lulama Hlanjwa, in Barkly East.
"They proceeded to the identified house and found the suspect present," said police spokesperson, Capt Ursula Roelofse.
"The premises were searched and they found 23 quarters of boss mandrax tablets and eight straws of tik and cash.
"The 18-year-old woman was arrested for dealing in drugs."
Capt Roelofse said that during the same evening, two other members were patrolling around Maclear - busy with stop and search activities at Zakhele Extension, when they came across a group of men and searched them.
"A 29-year-old suspect was arrested for having straws and a sachet of tik in his possession."
The Cluster Commander, Colonel Matshediso Gezani commended the members of K9 that assist all the stations in the Cluster with crime prevention duties.
